This online grocery box delivery service delivers fresh produce straight from the farm to the door of customers. Their biggest selling point is the freshness of their produce; handpicked locally and shipped from farm-to-door. They worked with CodeClouds to build an end-to-end solution for delivering produce.

Requirements

The client required a solution where customers could buy grocery box subscriptions, while also facilitating one-time orders. Customers would then be able to customize and manage their produce box subscription from a custom portal.

Challenge

The main challenge for this was the timeframe. The website and customer portal had to be built within a month to kick off their business. They wanted a checkout process that was very simple and user-friendly for their customers.

However, many additional features were planned to be introduced to the website at a later stage.

Solution

After considering all of the challenges and scope requirements, we developed the website using WordPress plus WooCommerce and took extra steps to ensure ADA compliance. We used our out-of-box solution ‘Unify Members Portal’ with ‘sticky.io’ CRM to handle customers and their orders. This way, we did not have to build everything from scratch and could meet the initial deadline.

Initially, there was no cart system throughout the whole checkout process because the client wanted to keep the checkout flow simplified. Later on, we implemented a Cart page to make it more user-friendly based on feedback from their customers.

Several customizations were done later on in order fulfill their requirements and improve the overall portal user experience.

Results

As a result, we could build a very scalable website with a short turnaround and meet the launch date. Several customizations and features were added the website to make it even more user-friendly for customers and admins.

The website is hosted in WP Engine® so performance was not an issue and was well optimized. We made sure there was a high-level of security and used an additional security plugin to make the site even more secure for everyone.
